z8100

z8100doc.jpgThe z8100 also named MI 79 is designed by RATP and SNCF to be used on the RER B. The z8400 also named MI 84 is derived from the z8100 to be used on the RER A.

In the winter 1985, the z8100 was unable to run because of the freezing, the SNCF was constrained to use again z23000 which were retired. Since that electronics of the z8100 got a better insulation.

z8100 train is composed of four vehicles.
