-====== AGV ======+{{fr:trainsfrdoc:agvdoc.jpg  }}====== AGV ======
 +AGV is a high speed train designed by Alstom and operated by the private Italian company NTV as ".Italo" since April 2012.
-{{:fr:agvdoc.jpg  }}The AGV (Automotrice à Grande Vitesse - high speed railcar) is the latest high speed train from Alstom. It's the successor of the TGV even if this time SNCF doesn't take part of its development. As the TGV, the AGV uses the axle placed between the cars but however the engine is distributed along the train, on the bogies, so the AGV got more space for passengers and more lightness, notice that the AGV is the only train with the TGV 001 to have both intermediate bogies and distributed engine. The AGV's engine also used permanent magnets'engines improving its ratio power/weight, running cost and maintenance cost regarding the TGV.+AGV stands for Automotrice à Grande Vitesse (literally "high speed multiple unit"). Unlike TGV series, which were built by both Alstom (French train maker) and SNCF (French national transportation company), AGV has been designed only by Alstom. It's the first train having both articulated structure (like TGV) and distributed motorization along the train (whereas TGV has two locos at each end) to be operated. Besides, these two characteristics were already present on the prototype TGV 001, fourty years earlier. Therefore, the space gained is used so as to carry more passengers. AGV also uses synchronous engines with permanent magnets, having an attractive power/weight ratio, making the train lighter than TGV. Energy consumption and maintenance costs are reduced as well.
 +In November 2008, Alstom announces there will be double-deck AGVs.
-The prototype PEGASE assembled in La Rochelle's factories in February 2008 staid six months in Czech Republic for a test campaign.+Alstom proposes trainsets composed of seven to fourteen vehicles, NTV's .Italo are composed of eleven vehicles.
 +^Composition ^Speed ^Power ^Weight ^Capacity |

-The AGV will be used first by the private Italian company Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori which bought 25 trains for 2011. +<WRAP download>{{fr:trainsfr:NTV_AGV.pak}} \\ {{fr:trainsfrsource:agv.zip|Source files}}</WRAP>
